The Joshua Tree is Hanfield's first extension campus. We meet each Sunday at 10:30am at Brooks Upper Crust Pizza on the corner of Washington and Highland Streets in Marion. We have a great time of fellowship, worship, teaching, and studying God's Word. We usually watch Pastor Tim's sermons on video, but occasionally he comes and joins us live. Dave Moore is our campus pastor, and we have a great group of volunteers that help with all elements of the services. Come join us on a Sunday morning sometime and check us out! Our VisionHanfield's vision for the next season is to "Offer Them Christ." The Joshua Tree is a vital part of God's vision for Hanfield to offer Christ to those in spiritual captivity. God's Word says in Habakkuk 2:2-3, "Then the LORD replied: 'Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Through it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay." Joshua is the one whom God used to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. We identify with Joshua as we feel we are called to reach into Marion as our "Promised Land." Joshua trees grow in the desert, yet still thrive. We feel that Marion is a "spiritual desert" and it is our call to thrive in that desert and reach the love of Jesus to the people of Marion. A few encouraging verses from the book of Joshua:
Wreck the Roof CampaignWreck the Roof is Hanfield's vision to reach out to Marion by starting an extension campus. It is a fund raising campaign to help Hanfield realize this vision. A "roof wrecker" is someone who steps out in faith, and is taken from the story of the paralytic in Mark 2:1-12 whose friends took a step of faith to literally wreck a roof to get their friend to where Jesus was. We also want to be where Jesus is, and we believe that a big part of that is to reach Marion by starting an extension campus. |
