Worship

What is Worship?

  • We believe the corporate worship that takes place on Sundays is very important, but does not exempt us from worshiping God with our lives every day.
  • It doesn't matter what songs we sing on Sunday morning, but to whom we are singing them.
  • If you don't get anything out of worship, then perhaps you have come for the wrong reason. It's not about getting from God, but giving to God.
  • People tend to complicate worship. But it's really very simple: to tell God we love Him, trust Him, and are committed to Him.
...Just because He is God.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of WORSHIP. —Romans 12:1

Corporate Worship: Sunday Mornings

On Sunday mornings at Hanfield, our goal is simple: to praise God. We sing songs, we give tithes and offerings, we hear a Bible-based sermon, and we pray for each other. Sometimes we hear a story about how God has changed someone's life, or watch a drama or video that supports the sermon or drives home a point.

Our children also praise God with singing, Bible stories, memory verses, and activities that help them learn the lesson for the day. A nursery is available for infants and toddlers as well.

eed help giving God your time every day
We want the whole family to join us for worship on Sunday morning. There is something for younger kids to do each hour, but we encourage you to have them join you for a worship service as soon as you feel they are ready.

Individual Worship: Every Day

Your goal every day should be simple: to praise God. In everything you do every day—work, play, hobbies, chores, relationships, family—everything.
Part of it involves doing some of the same things we do corporately on Sunday mornings: giving your time, praying for each other, and studying God's word.
This tells God, "I love you. I trust you. I am committed to you."

Next Step: Going "All In" for Worship

  • Commit to worshiping God corporately on Sunday morning every week.
  • Commit to worshiping God in everything you do every day.
